The Miles City Police Department is currently accepting applications for a police officer position. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States and have a valid driver license. Hiring process includes an initial interview, criminal history check, background investigation, psychological exam, physical exam, drug screening and an interview with the police commission. Applicants who are POST certified will be considered over applicants who do not have the certification.
Starting wage for a probationary patrolman is $19.58 an hour, with an additional .50 cents for afternoon shifts and .75 cents for night shifts. After a successful completion of the probationary period, officers will earn $21.64 per hour. Officers have a 20 year retirement plan under MPORS, medical/dental insurance, vacation and sick leave, comp time, holiday pay and longevity pay.
