The MCPD would like to remind all persons who have recently moved into our community and state of the residency requirements for their driver licenses and vehicle registrations:
Driver License/MCA 61-5-103: A person who has resided in Montana for more than 60 consecutive days is considered to be a resident for the purpose of being licensed under the laws of Montana before operating a motor vehicle.
Vehicle Registration/MCA 61-3-302: A resident of the state of Montana who owns a motor vehicle may not operate the vehicle with license plates from another state.
